WE've got it

The Author of this post is Darius Boone

We have t1 internet at the office and it’s been really nice. I run a blog for the business and it was so slow trying to get on and make updates before it was really driving me crazy. I can’t believe it’s so easy to run a blog nowadays – I had no idea what I was doing when I first logged on but now I’m a pro at Wordpress. It’s amazing they make these tools so easy for novices to operate since only a few years ago I could barely turn on my computer by myself! I think it’s amazing how much internet has changed the scope of our business and how much easier it is to get the work done that used to take me all day. My boss seems to think I've become way more productive and I guess I technically have but it's not because I'm a better workerbut because I have better tools with which to do my job. Totally worth it from a cost perspective!

LOGGING MY HOURS

This guest post from Doris Dillon

I used my clear 4g to update my time card. Our office has recently switched to internet time entry. No more punching the clock! Yesterday, I forgot to log my hours and remembered when I got home. It was actually pretty easy to do it from home. I had the original instructions about how you had to log into a special type of intranet from your internet connection to get into the system to put my hours in. I called my girlfriend and told her about it when I got home. I hate having to do a lot of things at work on the internet because I think that it slows me down sometime. I am always a lot quicker when I write things down, but for some reason I think that logging your hours on the computer are a lot quicker and more secure. I do keep a paper log in planner though just in case anything ever crashes so that I can make sure that I get my money honey!

Mom and Dad

Thanks for the guest post by Donn Schroeder

Mom is so sweet and has always told me that I have a home with she and dad if I ever needed it. Of course, I was flying high at my big lawfirm a few years ago and I thought I’d never need their help…I wish I had saved more. All at once I lost my job and broke my leg so I had to move back in with my parents at the humiliating age of 27…do you know what living with your family does to your dating status at that age? Anyway, it’s been a godsend to have a roof over my head and hot food to eat each night but I’m trying to find ways to get back on my feet again. Mom got internet for me from http://www.satelliteinternetbroadband.com/ so I could job search at home (I’m still not totally mobile after breaking my leg) and that’s helped but I have to be honest and say that this is not a good market for anyone with a law degree, I’ll tell you what.

Making my closet fit the bill for my minimalist wardrobe

Guest post written by Annie Stewart

I used to be a really exuberant dresser. But that was a few years ago back in college. I don't' dress like that any longer. Instead, I now worry about looking professional instead of just screaming to the world that I'm a free spirit. But until now I've hung on to some of those clothes that really do not fit me at this point in life. I'm not saving up to outfit an entire costume party or anything. instead, I'm more of a sentimental hoarder. I'll hold on to just about anything that reminds me of great times.

Well, I needed a little help dealing with getting rid of all that stuff, so I looked online with my Austin wireless internet to see what I could find as far as tips go for that

I have to say that the best tip that I found to help reinforce my minimalist wardrobe was to try on my old clothes. Boy did that take me back to some memories and also reminded me of just how ridiculous I used to look in those clothes. That really gave me the motivation to get rid of that stuff.

Kids and TV?

Thanks for the post, Kathy Shelton

My kids were never allowed to watch CABLE TELEVISION until we got satellite a few months back and since I’ve been keeping tabs on what they’re watching I can totally understand why! Have you ever watched that horrible Jersey Shore show? Those kids are hooking up left and right and they’re not exactly the kind of example I want my daughters to be following. There’s pretty much nothing on MTV nowadays that makes me feel like they should be watching it but I do really enjoy when we have family movie nights once a week – it’s a good chance to get us all together and get the girls talking about what’s going on in their lives. I love them to death but if cancelling our satellite is what I have to do to keep them from watching trash TV then that’s what I’ll have to do. I don’t think that’s the best solution, though, since they’re 15 and 14 and pretty soon will be able to make their own choices without my guidance!

Almost Time for the Indie Spirit Awards

Thanks to Jonathon Woods

It is award season once again, and I cannot wait to see the outcome of the Indie Spirit Awards. This year the award show will take place on February 26. There is a lot of talk about who will win these awards. Winter's Bone has the most nominations, and I am excited to see how many awards this movie will take home. I love watching the Indie Spirit Awards because it seems people feel more comfortable, like they can really be themselves, unlike other award shows. One of the big items up for debate this year is what technically qualifies a movie as an indie project. I think in future years there are going to be further qualifications to determine which films will be allowed into this category. For now I am just going to sit back and enjoy watching the Indie Spirit Awards on my Direct TV. I cannot wait to see what fabulous outfits everyone is wearing and what outrageous things will be said and done. There is never a lack of excitement at the Indie Spirit Awards.

Being prepared to go back to school will make things easier

I appreciate the guest post, Vito Rivers

Getting the kids ready to go back to school after a break can be challenging. After having two weeks off for winter break the first morning back can be quite hectic. Being prepared the day before will make it easier for everyone in the morning. The day before I made sure every child had their book bags and school supplies ready to go. All my kids outfits were picked out and ready to go also. Lunches were planned and made. Alarms were set to make sure everyone was up and ready in the morning. I even decided what to make in the morning for breakfast and had my coffee set and ready to go. Since we got used to sleeping in I made sure they got to bed earlier to ensure a good nights rest. After having a healthy snack and reading some books all the children were fast asleep. I then set my home security alarm (click here) and got to bed a little earlier myself. With everything prepared properly the night before the morning actually ran pretty smoothly.
