Kids and TV?

My kids were never allowed to watch CABLE TELEVISION until we got satellite a few months back and since I’ve been keeping tabs on what they’re watching I can totally understand why! Have you ever watched that horrible Jersey Shore show? Those kids are hooking up left and right and they’re not exactly the kind of example I want my daughters to be following. There’s pretty much nothing on MTV nowadays that makes me feel like they should be watching it but I do really enjoy when we have family movie nights once a week – it’s a good chance to get us all together and get the girls talking about what’s going on in their lives. I love them to death but if cancelling our satellite is what I have to do to keep them from watching trash TVthen that’s what I’ll have to do. I don’t think that’s the best solution, though, since they’re 15 and 14 and pretty soon will be able to make their own choices without my guidance!
